Hope wins first place in national video contest

Hannah Hope, a fifth grader from the Program for Exceptionally Gifted Students (PEGS) at Rose Acres, won first place in the fifth through eighth grade category in the National Poison Prevention Week video contest and received a $100 prize.

The video contest sponsored by the National Poison Prevention Week Council was open to all fifth through 12th graders in the United States and the theme was poison prevention/safety. Her entry illustrated a message that communicates ways all people can take responsibility for preventing poisonings and promoted the national poison hotline.

Fifth graders Devin Garner and Harrison Vandernoot were also finalists in the contest.

The students are taught by PEGS teachers Robin Chang and Tracey Robinson.
