First graders at Remington Traditional sold cold drinks, water and snacks to staff members in order to raise money to buy new playground equipment. They pitched the idea to principal Dr. Don Furjes and then opened the First Grade Snack Stand for business.
Before the end of the year, they raised enough money to purchase two new items for the primary playground: stepping stones and a large Connect 4 game.
The first grade teachers are Ms. Kelley Dent and Ms. Allison Grigone.
