These are also widely available at local stores. Phone charging plugs will also work but lower wattages will charge much slower.

There are several things you can do to get longer battery life:

• decrease the brightness of your screen - maximum brightness makes the battery drain faster

• turn off background app refresh for everything except your Google drive and Google apps

• use the charging brick that you were issued (12 W) instead of a lower powered phone brick

• plug in your iPad to charge when you get the low battery message at 10% and turn off streaming music

• turning off your iPad overnight while charging will get better results and charge faster

A few things that can help. First of all make sure they are using the larger charging plug that they were given with their device. It is a higher wattage and charges faster than smaller phone chargers. Also, Zoom is extremely battery intensive and will drain the battery on any device very quickly. We recommend that students leave it plugged in all day if possible.

Every once in awhile apps on the iPad might stop behaving correctly or might need an update. When this happens you can press and hold down on an app icon and tell the app to Delete. After it is gone you can either wait a few minutes for it to reinstall or if you don’t want to wait you can look for an app called Manager with a sideways Wifi symbol on it. Check to make sure there are no apps that are half installed and kind of grayed out. If so press and hold on those apps and tell them to Cancel install. When you click on your Zoom link and it asks you to login you want to leave the company domain box alone. It should say psdr3-org in that box. If you just click return or Go then it will ask to open Zoom and then sign in with google and you should be good to go.
